The Harvard Crimson, the daily paper of the Harvard University has highlighted FocusBooster App to Harvard students in its Blog as a key tool to allow strong focus on studies.

The Harvard Crimson, founded in 1873, is the United States oldest continuously published daily college newspaper. It boosts a proud history of Pulitzer Prize-winning editors, with past editors including US President John F. Kennedy, plus US President Franklin D. Roosevelt also holding The Crimson’s president’s chair in 1904.

Why do companies let brand designers attempt to design web applications?

Properties of a piece of paper:

  • it is static
  • it has only one state
  • once printed upon, it doesn’t change
  • other than reading it, you cannot interact with it
  • it doesn’t change size from viewer to viewer

Properties of a web application:

  • it needs to respond to user gestures and interaction
  • it needs to collect data
  • should have a logical flow and process for performing multiple functions
  • it needs to present different data at different parts of a workflow
  • needs to persist state across different pages

As you can see, they’re completely different mediums. They’re totally and utterly opposites.
So why do companies let brand designers attempt to design web applications?

Congratulations to Scott Mebberson (our founding partner and chief technology guru) and Gavin Keech (our design guru and creative director) for developing their own software application, Focus Booster.

Focus Booster is a simple and elegant application designed to help you eliminate the anxiety of time and enhance your focus and concentration. It has been designed based on the principles of the Pomodoro Technique.

It’s an awesome piece of software that’s easy to use, and really helps you focus on getting tasks done without loosing attention. Needless to say it’s widely used by all members of Team Enpresiv, and has been downloaded thousands of over 5,000 over 8,000 over 10,000 times from its website.
